Steve Withers’ long-time dream of becoming a business owner finally became a reality in 1979 when he opened Steve’s Heating & Cooling, LLC. His vision was to provide exceptional service at a fair price, but most of all, to be completely honest with his customers. That honesty and exceptional service remains the main focus of the company today.

Steve started the company with one van, a few tools and himself. Although the company has grown since then, it still remains a small business and is still run by the same principals it was founded on. How many service companies can say that they have an owner on site at all equipment installations? We are proud to say that we can.

The business has always been family owned and operated. Steve’s son-in-law, Scott Johnson, joined the company in April 1996 as a service tech and his daughter, Michelle, joined in May 2001 as the office manager. After working out of his house in Gladstone since 1979, Steve decided to relocate his business to an office building in Riverside, Missouri in 2002. In September 2006, Steve decided to semi-retire and sold the business to his daughter and son-in-law.

We currently install American Standard Heating & Cooling products and are proud to say that we are a Customer Care Dealer.  A Customer Care dealer is hand picked and they have a proven commitment to excellence, product knowledge and customer service.  One of our owners also became certified by NATE North American Technician Excellence in 2015.   NATE certification is based on successful passing of the corresponding NATE exams. NATE certification tests represent real world working knowledge of HVACR systems. Developed by a committee of industry experts nationwide, NATE exams are rigorous, multiple-choice, knowledge-based tests and validate a technician’s knowledge. Our certifications are in Air Conditioning Service, Heat Pump Service, Air Conditioning Installation and Heat Pump Installation.
